Re: Megiddo
"Key of Hades. . . Gates of Hell. . . I remember my dad talking about something like this. . . I think it was called Dimensional. . . Dimensional. . . damnit, I can't remember. But I know it's not good."
|
Re: Megiddo
Ayn turns towards the group, smirking slightly. "Hell, huh? Probably wants to meet up with his late whore." She stretches, then swings her arms in a circular motion as if to loosen the muscles.
|
Re: Megiddo
''Thalos!'' HaVoK swore in the language of the west
''You cannot comprehend the power of what lies beyond the barrier. But...there is no man who has a force that could break the barrier...it's not possible to cross it...by any force i know of.'' |
Re: Megiddo
One ignores the ramblings of Havok, thinking about what Ayn just said. (Thinking to self) "That's right, she knows about her also, doesn't she?" He looks at Jekin to see if he also understood Ayn's joke.
|
Re: Megiddo
Jekin raises an eyebrow and turns to Lara. "You studied this kind of stuff." His sister nods.
"Yeah One's right. It's part of a theory. As would Gaia take physical form, the spiritual world did also...something about balance. These highly concentrated pieces of mass were called "keys" and they could be forced to rip open a gateway to their respective dimension..that must be what he's trying to do. They were unable to be destroyed, and so they were hidden in temples. If he's after the 'key' of hell...he's going to Bevyhral. I was taught that legend said it was the location that Lucifer landed when he fell from heaven, and I shrine was made there by pagans..we could look there." |
Re: Megiddo
Ayn is silent for a moment, then shakes her head. Many things didn't add up, but she didn't see any reason to discuss it. What was important now that they knew where Gale was headed.. theoretically.. It was better than standing around arguing about it, she figured.
|
Re: Megiddo
Lara shakes her head. "It is only a theory. No one proved it to be true. In fact even I find it far-fetched. But it fits, no?"
Jekin nods. "Bevyhral isn't too far from here. The problem is transportation. Something we have little of at the moment." |
Re: Megiddo
He looks up. "I have some money, I'm sure the others do too. We should stop in the marketplace and look for transportation."
|
Re: Megiddo
''The fires of Hell are too strong for anyone to fight. With the power of A high Angel Lucifer crafter the great Gates. To open the barier is to unleash every plague that there is imaginable. For centuries the Westen Angels have faught the great Evil...''
HaVoK looks down ''Gale must be stopped before reaches the shrine...or all hell will break loose...quite litteraly...'' ''I need no transport...but we all need to make haste...'' |
Re: Megiddo
Lara seems in the dark. "Gale's woman? What woman?"
Jekin walks over to explain to his sister what One told him. "Gah! No one tells me anything. -_-" "Vain or not, we have to stop Gale before he does unrefutable(does that make sense?) damage to this world. We can walk to Bevyhral, but there we might have to look into other means of travel. However, are first objective is that shrine. Everyone get ready. We're leaving in five minutes." |
Re: Megiddo
He stands up. "I'm ready to go whenever everyone else is. Fury, I know you have money, running Tri-Link's Cafe, as do I. Lara and Jekin should have money, being mercenaries. . Anybody else?"
|
Re: Megiddo
Lara bursts into a fit of laughter. "We make money, we don't keep it."
Jekin rolls his good eye. "You don't keep it. I use my share to buy neccecities." ((In a matter of a few posts, I'm gonna fastforward a bit to avoid irrelivent desert travel. In the meantime, you can catch up if you missed a bit or just kill time posting.)) |
Re: Megiddo
Stepping forward Bhaal reaches into his pocket and pulls out a half a dozen gold sovereigns bouncing them up and down in his hand making a clinking noise. Gold. A currency that works just about anywhere. I keep most of my money on me and it’s not all that often I have to use it. We may as well use it now. I still have plenty more.
|
Re: Megiddo
Ayn reaches into her pocket, pulling out a small wad of bills. She walks over and hands it to Lara. "It's all I have, but it's better than nothing, I guess."
|
Re: Megiddo
''I'm going to check the land around.''
HaVoK walks over to a large rock. He jumps onto it and then immediately into the air. With great speed he covers great distance and soon enough he is up on a cloud. With a view for miles all around, he sees the endless dessert. ''There may be no trouble in our way...but that's a hell of a hard walk'' He grins ''Not my problem. |
Re: Megiddo
Jekin looks at the outpouring of funds. "Well...this is more then I expected. This will give us enough to buy SOMETHING. For those of us without transportation." He looks at Wessen's bike and Rikali. Abbis could fly, but it got tiresome fast.
|
Re: Megiddo
Wessen, who is leaning against his parked Tandem pats it and chimes in.
Don't worry about me. This thing's light on gas and is PLENTY fast enough to keep up with you flying folk. And if money is a terribly big issue, I can help pitch in. Wessen smirks. I do well for myself financially. Money is my favorite thing you see. But I aint lookin to part with any more of it than I have to. I can give Riki here a ride if she doesn't ming a long desert trip on a bike seat. Everyone else can fly, I presume. He looks over at Hiyate Well there's you, but you seem to have made a dragon friend. So much for the 6-inch rule. |
Re: Megiddo
Fury pipes up again. "Between One and me we could probably buy a Hummer. Speaking of which... I left the Jeep back in town." It was the same truck that had taken them to New Myria and back. Definitely a vehicle that had seen better days, but it could serve their purpose here.
|
Re: Megiddo
Atta boy.
Wes grins, thrilled at the idea of NOT having to spend money. The stingy bastard. |
Re: Megiddo
Jekin shrugs at Fury. "If you go back for it you'll have to catch up, we're leaving soon, so it's up to you."
Lara stretches. "I'll keep the walkers company and make sure they don't fall behind or anything." |
Re: Megiddo
Nods at Fury. "As long as we don't get the H2, that **** is ugly."
|
Re: Megiddo
Looking around at the rest of the group and then off into the distance where they must travel Bhaal takes a few steps forward. Well unless there's anything else that needs to be done here then I'm ready to be off.
|
Re: Megiddo
Ayn finds amusement in One's comment on Hummers. "Ah, so we're not all ****ed yet.. We're still arguing over what cars we want to drive."
|
Re: Megiddo
((Moving things along...))
Jekin looks at the group. "Well, only Ayn, Cloud and...Bhaal is it? Are unable to fly and without transportation. Unless the last one can fly and we don't know it. Either way, they can surive till we get to the town. So let's go." ~A few hours later...~ I didn't take long for the group to back track to Merylyan and use some of their pooled funds to buy a hummer. After that, it was only an hour or so trip through the wasteland and to Bevyhral. The town was similliar the New Myria, which some of the group had visited on another misadventure. However, Bevyhral was much smaller and friendly. Thus fear of being attacked was minimal, especially with the size of the group and some of it's fearsome members. Lara walks out of the hummer and looks around. "Not exactly my kind of place for a vacation." |
Re: Megiddo
Wes raises an eyebrow.
What's throwin' you off? The lack of corpsified bodies? |
Re: Megiddo
He steps out of the hummer on the passenger side. "I passed near this town before, through the town of Midd, located a few miles away from here. Didn't come here though. . . " Looks at Lara. "Alright then, where to?"
|
Re: Megiddo
Lara looks at Wessencrosses her arms. "Very funny." She turns to One. "Let's find out were we have to go to find the shrine."
|
Re: Megiddo
HaVoK drops to the ground once more from the clouds above.
''This place isn't right...there's something here that should not be...and evil presence.'' HaVoK draws the broadsword on his back, and checks it over ''Aincient theory or not...something evil is here... Perhaps it is Gale's intentions i can feel...or perhaps...'' HaVoK sheaths his sword and checks over his others ''Maybe the very entrance to Hell is around'' |
Re: Megiddo
Ayn steps out of the Hummer, wrinkling her nose after taking a deep breath. "Ugh. It smells here, too."
|
Re: Megiddo
Stepping out the other side of the hummer Bhaal looks over the place. I'm sure that there will be plenty to keep everyone entertained here soon if we don't find Gale and plenty of the aforementioned corpsified bodies too if it all goes wrong. At least there's not too much to search.
|
Re: Megiddo
A group of children are playing with a ball nearby. The ball rolls away and hits Ayn's foot. The children run over and a boy takes the ball. "Sorry Ma'am." Timidly, he and his friends retreat back to their play area.
Jekin lands, it seems had had chosen to fly here. "Let's ask the locals for information. Someone must know where the shrine is." |
Re: Megiddo
One looked around a little bit, wondering how they were gonna get there. What are the gates of Hell supposed to look like anyway? "I'm gonna cover some of the bars, someone has to know, right?"
|
Re: Megiddo
Ayn frowns slightly at the children, as if hurt by their fear of her. She sighs, and glances at Jekin. "Locals.. Right.." She turns away, headed towards what looks like a small pub.
|
Re: Megiddo
Wessen's interest is perked by One's comment. He quickly dismounts and goes to stand next to him.
Uh yeah. People in pubs tend to know this sort of thing. I'm goin' with you. And I could certainly use a drink.. |
Re: Megiddo
A child falls over and cuts his leg. Crying quickly follows.
HaVoK walks over to the fallen child and bends down. He unsheathes the small dagger around his calf and with it, cuts his hand across the palm. He puts the hand now covered in blood over the childs wound. ''Kid, where are your parents'' ''Working silly'' The child replies HaVoK removes the hand from the childs leg and his wound is now gone, he poors water to rince away the blood ''Do you know where a shrine is?'' Quickly...the kid goes pale, stands up and runs away ''That child is scared...perhaps of the shrine...perhaps of someone else who was looking for the shrine...'' |
Re: Megiddo
Lara shrugs and follows Ayn. She had nothing better to do. Meanwhile, Jekin was asking some of the street merchants nearby, but seemed to have little luck.
|
Re: Megiddo
One enters a bar and takes a seat at the counter, looking around the room for anyone shady. Wessen takes a seat next to him. "See anybody that might know somehting?"
|
Re: Megiddo
As soon as Ayn and Lara enter, a group of scraggly, yet buff men start to laugh. One of them pipes up. "Well, well, we got ourselves some foreign whores! How about that, boys?"
Ayn groans in annoyance, and glances at Lara. |
Re: Megiddo
Lara smiles and levels her handgun with the poor fool who made the remark. "Well well, we got ourselves some dumb, dead humans! How about it, Ayn?" Lara fires her gun into the first man's skull, splattering his brain all over his friends. "This happen often, Ayn?"
|
Re: Megiddo
Wessen, who is already enjoying a nice pint of Ale, turns on his barstool to look around. There's some greasy characters over there. See em? The five guys there. They seem like they own this particular bar. What says we ask em some questions? Watch my glass, will ya One? He taps one of the men on the shoulder. Pardon. We're looking for a shrine. I don't suppose you could give us any aid on that score? The tallest and broadest of the men turns to look down at Wes. Thug #1: "Now we don't appreciate people coming into our town and asking about that. There's a way things are here. Tourists don't bother the locals." Why is that? Thug #2: "Leave." No. Thug #1: "Are you looking to start some ****, son?" Wessen smiles a little. If I told you I wasn't... I'd be a liar. And well.. I am a liar. But not this time. With that, Wessen takes a huge, strong swing at the thug which lands square in his jaw, knocking him across the room and onto the table of some innocent bystanders. Some help buddy? I think we got ourselves a bar fight here. And assuming we's wins.. this bloke is gunna tell me what we wanna know. |
